The Katadyn KFT Element, also known as part number 1040, is the replacement filter for the Katadyn Expedition Water Filtration System. Easy to clean, easy to install. Removes impurities down to 0.2 microns.The KFT-1040 element is composed of silver impregnated ceramic to help prevent bacteria growth. The 1040 Element will also remove particles, cysts and parasites down to 0.2 microns in size. When the flow rate in your Katadyn Expedition decreases you should remove the KFT Element and clean the outer layer of debris and particulates until you can see the original color of the filter.
